Packaging Hot Melt Glue Granules (BS-8125)

This is a medium viscosity adhesive designed for applications requiring strong bonding and transparent appearance. Known for its aggressive initial tack and excellent low-temperature resistance, this adhesive is perfect for color-sensitive applications, such as bonding EPE foam, EVA insoles, and other difficult-to-bond substrates.

Description

  • Transparent Appearance: Ideal for color-sensitive applications.
  • Aggressive Initial Tack: Ensures immediate adhesion.
  • Low Temperature Resistance: Maintains bond strength in cooler environments.
  • Versatile Applicability: Suitable for a range of substrates and bonding needs.
  • Negligible Odour: Provides a user-friendly experience without strong smells.
  • Wide Applicator Compatibility: Usable with standard wheel and nozzle applicators, T die, extruders, gear and piston pumps, and foamed hot melt systems.

Direction of Use

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure substrates are clean, dry, and free of contaminants like oil, grease, and dust. Clean surfaces with solvent if necessary.
  • Application: Apply adhesive using standard wheel and nozzle applicators or T die, extruders, gear, and piston pumps. Maintain an application temperature between 140°C and 160°C.
  • Bonding: Apply adhesive to the more difficult-to-bond surface first. Adjust temperature to regulate viscosity, delivery rate, pot life, and open time.
  • Adhesive Optimization: Follow manufacturer guidelines to minimize thermal degradation and ensure optimal performance. Avoid exceeding 200°C and regularly check thermostats.

Precautions

  • Avoid Contact: Once melted, the adhesive can cause severe burns. Avoid skin contact with hot adhesive.
  • First Aid: If hot adhesive contacts the skin, flush the area with cold water and seek medical attention. Do not attempt to remove the solidified adhesive.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry location with the container tightly closed. Ensure a shelf life of at least 12 months.
  • Operational Safety: Follow proper safety guidelines and refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for detailed safety information.
